In connection with the planned expansion of Sofia Airport, we studied and evaluated the impact of the estimated future traffic expected as a result of the update of the airport master plan on the adjacent transport infrastructure and made recommendations for optimizing the organization of traffic in the project area. Specifically, we performed the following tasks:
– Modeling vehicular traffic and pedestrians with PTV Vissim and PTV Viswalk
– Analysis and evaluation of alternative scenarios for the road network, taking into account public transport and pedestrian flows
– Engineering solutions for road optimization network
– Preparation of a parking strategy on the territory of the airport
