In connection with the planned expansion of Sofia Airport, we evaluated the impact of the future traffic flows and made recommendations for optimizing the road network. Specifically, we performed the following tasks:
– Modeling vehicular traffic and pedestrians with PTV Vissim and PTV Viswalk
– Analysis and evaluation of alternative scenarios for the road network, taking into account public transport and pedestrian flows
– Engineering solutions for road optimization network
– Preparation of a parking strategy on the territory of the airport
