Project
Feasibility study for the Klaipeda southern bypass

November 2025 – ongoing
The southern bypass of the city of Klaipeda, Lithuania is an important new road infrastructure for the movement of heavy goods vehicles from/to the port of Klaipeda.
As part of the study we developed macroscopic transport model whose purpose is to investigate and assess several alternatives for the bypass. We helped determine the prospective traffic volumes for two future horizons – 2035 and 2055. We also performed microscopic simulations at several major interchanges to evaluate the pros and cons of various engineering designs.
